OUR VISION
Star Ranch is an extraordinary property, rich in heritage as a long-time working horse and cattle ranch, located in the center of our community along it’s principal circulation routes, and blessed with abundant natural beauty and resources including plentiful water, scenic vistas and wonderful stands of mature oaks.  Within this framework, our vision is to preserve the pristine pastures and the majority of higher elevation uplands, comprising over 80% of the land, in a continuing ranch operation, under a privately owned and endowed ranch corporation, committed to this purpose.  The other 20% will be planned to integrate a variety of needed rural uses into the community, that will provide sustainable housing and commercial opportunities on a small village scale, to stimulate our local economy, but which will continue to border the ranch, and benefit from its verdant tranquility as well as its groundwater and passive energy resources.  
Our plan is predicated on the principle of employing low impact solutions as a first choice in adapting land uses to the existing terrain.  That means use of “green” building techniques, minimal grading and brush clearing consistent with health and safety considerations, compact efficient neighborhoods without sacrificing privacy, homes for special sectors of need such as seniors and first time homebuyers, and special attention to mobility without using automobiles… walkable neighborhoods and ample trails.  Our vision will also include new parks and recreation opportunities, a place for expanded medical services, a small hotel and visitor center and an authentic  “old west” village commercial center, in scale to accommodate small neighborhood services and businesses not currently available to our community.  The concepts of efficient water use and reuse will guide the project design and the siting of homes in and adjacent to the existing public infrastructure, now present at Cameron Corners, and will contribute to help make this new community a “fire safe” and “smart rural village” alternative to the previous rural sprawl which now defines much of our existing landscape.
